Run for Brotherhood – A Marathon @ VKV Jairampur

Run for Brotherhood – A Marathon @ VKV Jairampur

Jairampur,Sept 11: Vivekananda Kendra, a spiritually oriented service mission, is a thought movement started under the leadership of Mananiya Eknathji Ranade with the twin ideals of Man Making & Nation Building in 1972. It has galaxy of service activities in every nook and corner of India ablated centrally by the karyakarthas having its headquarter at Vivekanandapuram, Kanyakumari. The genesis of every project and service activity of the Kendra is mooted with the divine inspiration of Swami Vivekananda and His kaleidoscopic vision of the society in general and countryside in particular. In lieu of such vision and mission, Vivekananda Kendra has explored the proximity of its realization through the mandate of education, renunciation, dedication and service. The quality education being the panacea to all evils, that the Kendra has adopted as one of its weapons to curvature the degeneration of human values, is the only reason to open the centre of learning wherever the necessity was agglutinated. The people of Arunachal Pradesh placidly felt the dignity of true education and reciprocated Vivekananda Kendra to launch its educational activities in the state. Initially, the teachers after being trained were put in the Govt. schools to nurture the children, but soon it was realized to have pervaded constraints in the five fold developments of the learners. This invited acute pressure from the parents and public leaders to open schools by Vivekananda Kendra to impart value based education to the needy children of Arunachal Pradesh and thereby, seven schools were conceptualized in 1977, of which, VKV Jairampur is one. The journey of VKVs in the proximal of education has, thus, called upon a celebration of 40 years of relentless service of VKVs by the alumina to accolade their loving complements to their temples of learning. ‘Run for Brotherhood – A Marathon’ is a great leap forward in the outline of an invitation to one and all to spread the doctrine of brotherhood that Swami Vivekananda has left to his followers and disciples to domicile upon,  as well as to have a serene beginning to the year long celebration.
VKV Jairampur, being one of the first seven schools, too organized the ‘Run for Brotherhood – A Marathon’ on the eve of Universal Brotherhood Day to join in the celebration of 40 Years of relentless Service of VKVs to the people of Arunachal Pradesh. The marathon was attended by students, teachers, public leaders, VKVians, Assam Rifle and the people of the area at Police Check Post, Jairampur early in the morning to run for brotherhood. Sri Izmir Tikhak, senior public leader and well wisher of VKVs flagged off the venerated participants gathered over there. In his inaugural address, he spoke very lavishly about the contributions of VKVs to the people of Arunachal.
The marathon also witnessed the ostentatious roles of the youth of the area who were found very stanch to showcase the pragmatism of brotherhood to establish tolerance, truth and peace giving vent to truth which is not something exclusive but that every path, religion, philosophy, culture has a path of truth.

News Round-up February & March 2017

News Round-up February & March 2017

The Matri Puja conducted in the last part of the academic session in VKVs evokes a great feeling in the participants and once again affirms the significance of mother in anybody’s life. The role of mother in shaping the character of the child is paramount. In Mahabharata there is an interesting episode in which the mother’s clear vision of the role to be played by her child is reflected. The Pandavas were planning to have compromise to avoid any sort of war and requested Sri Krishna to carve a way out for the same. On knowing the same, Kunti, told very firmly “The time has come for which I a Kshatriya woman have given birth to my sons, as a Kshatriya they should see to it that Dharma prevails. For ensuring that Dharma prevails, they should fight for the good to eradicate adharma in the society.”Such type of firm conviction held by the mother will definitely steer their children in the right direction.
